Improve TEA school rating by focusing on resources for specific subgroups. Higher performance from Hispanic and economically disadvantaged subgroups kept the school from exemplary status in 2008.
The faculty used online assessment and instruction with Brainchild’s TAKS Achiever! and Mechanics to improve performance in reading, math, and science. Automated approach freed up teachers to focus on smaller groups of students or those needing individual attention.
The Spring 2009 TAKS results showed increases in academic achievement for targeted subgroups in reading, math, and status. School rose from ‘Recognized’ to ‘Exemplary’ status.
